AgriLink – Empowering Farmers Through Digital Connectivity
Agriculture remains a vital part of Nigeria’s economy, yet many farmers still face challenges accessing essential services, timely information, and reliable support systems. AgriLink was designed as a digital platform that bridges this gap by connecting farmers to key agricultural services in one seamless ecosystem.
The goal of this project was to simplify how farmers discover, access, and engage with services such as transportation, storage, expert consultation, and processing support—through a user-friendly and accessible digital experience tailored to their real-world needs.


Designing for Accessibility and Trust in Rural Users
The foundation of AgriLink was built on understanding its primary users—farmers with varying levels of digital literacy. The design process prioritized simplicity, clarity, and ease of navigation to ensure the platform could be used with minimal friction.
Key UX decisions included the use of large touch targets, straightforward language, and a structured onboarding flow that reduces cognitive load. The interface avoids unnecessary complexity, focusing instead on guiding users quickly to the services they need.
The result is a platform that feels familiar, intuitive, and trustworthy, even for first-time digital users in agricultural communities.

Structuring Services for Fast and Intuitive Access
A core challenge in the design process was organizing multiple agricultural services in a way that feels simple and not overwhelming. The homepage and services screen were designed to act as a clear entry point into the ecosystem.
Services such as transportation, storage, expert advice, and processing plants were grouped logically with clear visual hierarchy and icon-driven navigation. Each service card was designed to quickly communicate value and action, allowing users to understand and access services without confusion.
This structure reduces decision fatigue and ensures that farmers can complete tasks quickly, even in low-attention or low-connectivity environments.
Conclusion
Beyond individual services, AgriLink was designed to function as a connected ecosystem where farmers can not only access services but also grow within a community. Features like “Ask an Expert” and “Join a Community of Farmers” introduce social and support-driven interactions into the platform.
This approach transforms the app from a utility tool into a long-term support system for farmers. The experience is designed to encourage repeated engagement, knowledge sharing, and continuous value delivery across different stages of the farming process.
By combining service accessibility with community-driven support, AgriLink creates a more holistic and empowering agricultural experience.
